• Rakuten Shugi for continuing growth

  Rakuten Group has introduced values and new choices to the world with new business models and services since the foundation. Rakuten Shugi(※), value proposition and guidance, made it possible. It is a common language for each of our employees who holds entrepreneurship to contribute to society. Thanks to the common group value proposition and guidance, Rakuten Payment can work on creating synergy with various businesses outside of the company.

  Rakuten Group's value proposition and guidance define how each company should be and Rakuten Shugi is followed by all employees. This consists of brand concepts and concepts for success.

• Cafeteria

  Rakuten wants all employees to eat from the same pot. This started Rakuten's cafeteria. To maintain employees' health and to promote communication, breakfast, lunch and dinner are served for free.

  

• ASAKAI

  For each of the employees to maximize their ability to contribute to society, all of us must understand the current state of the company, directions, trend of the world and the latest technology.
  To promote this., Asakai is held for all group members each week. Asakai aims to share business progress, success examples, cross company marketing measures and technology trends. Rakuten Payment holds own Asakai that focuses on our business and share detailed information each month.

  

• Success holiday

  Rakuten Payment has success holiday system. We grant 3 days worth of success holidays in addition to normal paid leave. If combined with 2 days worth of paid leave, employees can take up to 9-11 day vacation for refreshment.

• Mentorship

  Our unique mentorship guides employees by listening to work related issues. We support open communication to maintain motivations and employees can work with reassurance.

• Clean up

  Same as Asakai, cleaning around the desks each week is Rakuten's culture since foundation. This aims to grow sense of ownership. In our company, there is nothing that is totally unrelated to you. Furthermore, all employees with all ranks share the same chores to understand we are all part of the same team.

• Omotenashi Project

  Omotenashi Project started at Rakuten Card in 2013 and it has shared throughout fintech companies at Rakuten Group. To provide services to our valued customers, we keep Omotenashi mind within the company and exercise for ourselves. We prefer qualitative mind to satisfy our customers than becoming first place with a quantitative result. This is why we value Omotenashi project.

Those who left Rakuten due to unavoidable situations such as life events and family matters or new challenges like job change and studying abroad are welcome to come back any time to bring new knowledge and skills.   Rakuten Group uses nicknames for frank and smooth communications. We don't refer to each other by job titles. We call each other by nicknames or xxxx-san.
