Profile

After working as a sales agent for personal bank account, Erena joined Rakuten in March, 2019. She was transferred to Rakuten Payment in April. She employs sales skills with ability to build relationship in her job. She mentions "It's easy to control work time and balance between work and personal time." She also like live concert and meet and greed events with her favorite Idols.

Erena's Work Today

Alliance Sales Teams's largest mission is to expand merchants that can use Rakuten Pay, Rakuten Pay and Rakuten Point Card. We offer propriety "Rakuten Pay Terminal" and card readers and alliance division promotes Rakuten Payment's 3 core services to external credit card and fintech company's transaction services and devices. I work on contract negotiation with alliance partners regarding distributor sales and merchant administration. I also work on new area development and promoting operation rates. After I became vice manager, I support and manage new members while maintaining key player role for large scale projects.

Why did Erena chose Rakuten Payment?

The reason why I changed my career from bank is I wanted to work at a company that I can expect growing industry. I joined Rakuten Payment because, I can move large budget and make impact to society utilizing my sales skills.
Since I joined when Rakuten Payment is founded, I participated in systemizing company rules while many projects started in parallel. In my past job, I felt I repeated the same work and goals, but I have more opportunity to think by miself to achieve my tasks. It was stimulating experience to be in an environment where I can relate with many people and challenge many news things through a transaction service. I also felt exciting about the culture where speed is the key to drive tasks. After 4 years, my excitement has not changed.

Why is working at Rakuten Payment attractive?

In 2022, I worked on a contract with company that represents hundreds of thousands of companies. It was challenging to negotiate with various stakeholders that involves alliance partners and partners nationwide to achieve our goals. I was able to launch thanks to partner companies we made contracts with, legal and audit departments, and Rakuten Card, Inc. kept strong relationship with me. I felt power of Rakuten through the bond that spans over groups and divisions.
Even if there's only one company you are assigned to, there are thousands or tens of thousands of stores under the company. Number of employees and users multiplied by double digits. I want to fulfil my responsibilities to look after their money and provide more useful services to our customers.

What is Erena's next goal in career?

I feel joy of working because I can do my tasks at my own pace in an environment that respects my will to accomplish. I am close to my boss and management layer which helps to get final decision fast. When I manage my team member, I communicate with one member at a time and give them opportunity to think and act by themselves. My task is to create a mechanism for potential users to start using our services. I want to participate in marketing effort like campaigns and utilize what I learned in next business. Furthermore, I want to contribute to business expansion by maximizing transaction volume and transaction amount with alliance partners.

Message to Candidates

My team has 10 members and about 40 companies are assigned to us. We establish trust relationship with each clients who have unique backgrounds. We seek for a middle ground where our goal and their requirements meet and I support negotiation process of members. Through management I can enhance my skill to build relationship of my own and negotiation skills.
Services offered by Rakuten Payment is still growing. Each employees have wide range of discretion and have opportunity to invent new system. Rakuten Group's core strength is in speed. There are many employees in twenties and thirties, so you can find environment where you can work with colleagues in your generation.
